Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Property Ledger account, what is deleted, and what is kept. It applies to both the web app and the Property Ledger Android app.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself

The fastest route, if you can still sign in:

  1. Sign in and open Settings → Privacy & Data.
  2. Optionally choose Export All Data first — you cannot retrieve it afterwards.
  3. Choose Schedule Deletion (30-day grace period, and you can cancel during it) or Delete Immediately, which asks for your password and cannot be undone.

Signed in with Google and no password set? Only Schedule Deletion is available, because immediate deletion confirms your identity with a password. You can set one first via Forgot password on the sign-in page if you would rather delete straight away.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

If you have lost access to your account, or you would rather we handled it, email help@crashfundme.com from the address on the account and include the words “account deletion request”.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and complete verified requests within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in account and credentials
  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your organization memberships, roles and permissions
  • Your notifications and saved searches
  • Personal identifiers on any tenant record matching your email

What is kept, and why

Property Ledger is shared bookkeeping software. Some records belong to the organization you worked in rather than to you personally, and deleting them would rewrite someone else's financial history.

  • Organization records — properties, tenants, leases, invoices, payments and ledger entries stay with the organization. They are no longer linked to you by name.
  • Financial and tax records — retained in anonymized form for up to 7 years, as described in our Privacy Policy, to meet tax, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations.
  • Deletion audit record — the fact that a deletion happened. Your email address is not kept; only a one-way keyed hash of it, which lets us confirm a specific request was honoured without storing the address itself.

You are asked to confirm you understand this before a deletion request is accepted.

If you own an organization

An organization owner cannot be deleted while they still own it — removing the owner would leave that organization's properties, tenants and books without one. You have two routes:

  • Delete the organization under Settings → Organization → Danger Zone, if it is yours alone and you want its records gone too.
  • Hand it to someone else — email help@crashfundme.com and we will transfer ownership to another member, so their records stay intact.

Either way, a deletion request you already submitted completes on the next nightly run once you are no longer an owner. You do not need to submit it again.

How long it takes

  • Immediate deletion — the account is gone as soon as you confirm.
  • Scheduled deletion — 30 days, so you can change your mind. Cancel any time before the date from the same settings page.
  • Email requests — completed within 30 days of us verifying the request.
